Useful info

It is normal for landlords to ask you to pay a deposit before you move in. This can vary but is often a month's rent or more. Some (but not all) university halls will ask you to pay a deposit: the average cost in the UK is £220.42. Always ask in advance so that you have enough money to pay your deposit. You will get it back when you leave the accommodation if there is no damage.

Some university halls charge a booking fee for the administration they do to book your room. On average this is £150.79. Always ask in advance if there is a booking fee so you have enough money to pay it.

Where will you live? In halls of residence, a privately rented house or flat or in a homestay?
