Useful info

If you want to fit in a part time job alongside your studies, try to get one which fits with your timetable and also helps you gain skills useful for your course or career.

A job can give you some extra money but do not rely on it to support you in the UK

If you are coming to the UK on a student visa, you will need to prove you have enough funding to support your studies when you make your immigration application. Earnings you may make from employment in the UK cannot count towards this. You will not be able to support yourself in the UK by working; however you could earn a bit of extra money, gain skills and vaulable experience.

Remember:

  • You can work up to 20 hours a week during term-time and full-time during your holidays if you are a non-EU student and have student immigration permission that allows you to take employment.
  • You'll need to balance your studies with work. How many hours can you manage alongside your course?
