This is an alternative grant for students who are eligible for, but not necessarily receiving, means tested state benefits. (For example, f you have a disability or are a single parent). The eligibility for this grant is the same as the Maintenance Grant as it is assessed on household income. If you receive this grant however, you will not have any amount deducted from your student loan.
