Tips for applying for support to institutions and charities.
- Prepared – Rehearse it with someone who knows you
- Passionate – Be passionate about your subject and course
- Perky – Always talk optimistically, i.e. how your life will be improved by the grant, rather than how it will be untenably difficult if you don't get one.
- Punctual – Be on time. The panel may not be able to consider your application if it's late
- Presentable – Address the questions – make sure you provide the information. Use a spell checker
- Personal – If you are asked to write a personal statement;
- say why you should receive the grant/bursary above others;
- talk about your ambitions and how they will be helped greatly by the extra funding
