About

What is it?

The UNIAID Student Life Wiki is an interactive website which allows students to upload and edit content about their town, University, living costs, and much more.

It's here to help students who are thinking of studying in UK higher education to prepare for university life - from freshers through to finals. The Wiki is free to access, and is there to complement the UNIAID International Student Calculator, by enabling students and institutions to provide more localised information on the cost of living in the UK.

Get informed!

Can't decide between Bristol and Birmingham? Want to know the cost of halls in Edinburgh? The Student Life Wiki is there to help you get a feel for University life, and prepare for the cost of study.

The Wiki is free to use - just search by city, institution or topic, and find out what other students have to say about it.

If you fancy yourself as a student guru, add your words of wisdom to the article of your choice. When you hit 'update' your article will instantly be published in the category you have chosen.

Who?

Developed by the student finance charity UNIAID in partnership with UKCISA, the Wiki is aimed primarily at International Students - helping them to get a feel for student life across different parts of the UK.

However, it's free for everyone to use, and we also welcome contributions from home students, student representatives, university staff, local businesses, and anyone else! If you've got something to say, we want to hear it.

UNIAID will be pleased to bring you news of research, products, services or promotions which are either created by us or which we think will be of relevance and interest using the information you have supplied.

Our communications will cover topical news. Additionally we work with a small number of 'carefully selected partners' to negotiate and communicate promotions. These promotions align with UNIAID's Mission to help young people overcome financial hurdles to higher education. These hurdles can include any essential or relevant cost: accommodation, books and equipment, clothes, travel, leisure, insurance etc.. UNIAID aims to help people overcome these hurdles by brokering discounts and offers to students. There will be no more than one communication per month to subscribers.
